This is about the golf course. The staff was as you expect. This course is not good. An awful layout. The cart path only is ok , if the cart paths were not unmaintained dirt paths. Don't worry about getting into a rhythm, because you won't. The greens are mostly some type of felt patch that is different height and speed of the real grass(when you can find it). Not much fun. For $85 you can play somewhere else.

The staff was friendly, and the views were nice—but that’s where the positives end. The fairways were in rough shape, with patchy grass and bare spots everywhere. The greens were the worst I’ve ever played on—covered in sand, chewed up, and completely inconsistent. Putting felt more like a game of Plinko than golf. Charging $70 for this course is laughable. At that price, you’d expect a playable track, not a maintenance project. Unless the goal was to practice your bunker shots on every green, I’d suggest looking elsewhere.

I went over Memorial Day weekend and it was still early in the season for the course. It was extremely hard to golf with the condition the course is in. But I would like to come back in a month or 2 to see if it is in better shape. I liked the hole layouts just was very rough when we went.

We hosted our wedding at Shining Mountain Golf Club in Woodland Park this past September, and it was the perfect venue for our special day. We held the ceremony in their beautiful backyard space and moved the celebration indoors for the reception. The setting was stunning, and the entire team went above and beyond to make everything run smoothly. The staff was nothing short of amazing—they helped us decorate, kept the pricing reasonable, and were so flexible with our requests. We brought in our own caterer, and they not only accommodated that but also crafted signature cocktails we requested that weren’t even part of their standard offerings. They also worked closely with our DJ to ensure his setup went off without a hitch. One of our favorite parts was how pet-friendly the venue is. We were able to include our beloved pets in the celebration, which made the day even more meaningful. Our guests loved the venue—many of them had never been in a golf cart before, and getting to ride around was a big, unexpected highlight! As a bride, I especially appreciated the spacious bathrooms—they offered plenty of room to get ready comfortably and feel relaxed. This was an incredible place to celebrate our wedding, and we’re so grateful to the Shining Mountain team for making it such a memorable experience. We’ll always treasure this venue and can’t wait to return and relive the memories!

If I could leave a zero star review I would. This course used to be good. Booked a tee time, they didn’t tell us about the winterkill on the greens until we drove 45 minutes and got there. Greens were goat patches, they said they dropped the price but it was exactly the same price as every year before. I’ve played here a bunch over the years. 100% will never go back.
