Worst round of golf I have ever played. $50 for 9 holes and the fairways look like garbage. Pace of play does not seem to matter here as I have waited 20 minutes to tee off. Would not recommend.

Kings deer is my favorite course in the Colorado Springs area and I bought a membership this year, and it has proven to be an amazing choice. The people first and foremost are what make the place special, everyone in the club house is beyond welcoming and always greets you with a smile. The bar and kitchen staff are just the same, all while making the best golf course food in the city (breakfast burritos and bison brats in particular). They take about 5 calls a week from me to set up tee times and no matter how much I call I’m treated with respect and kindness. The course it self is very challenging even though the slope is less than patty (which is beyond inaccurate, trust me I would know). The course is long and challenging with the best view of the Colorado sky anywhere in the city. The links style play makes for a very mental round of golf as well. The front 9 is my favorite in the state. The course also has night and day the best merchandise from waggle to bad birdie to Jordan’s and Asics, the deer has you covered. Also the staff is very knowledgeable of products, they even got me on Wilson Pro Staffs and now I won’t hit any other ball! I cannot recommend this place enough and if I weren’t moving in a year I would do whatever it took to renew my membership.

This is a decent course when it matures for the season. I played it 2 weeks ago and there was definitely some serious issues. Several of the greens were not in good shape (especially #9) and the bunkers were a concrete like mud, and very limited sand. Several of the fairways we had to roll the ball out of the areas that should have been listed as "Ground Under Repair" for the price we paid, we won't go back till September.

This course claims they promote a family friendly environment which couldn’t be further from the truth. I made an 8:30 a.m. Monday morning tee time for Fathers Day after scouring their website to see if they allowed kids. When I didn’t see any policies/objections, I brought my son and daughter with me to ride along. After an hour drive, I arrived at the clubhouse only to be told that they don’t allow riders or children, that it’s “too much of a liability”. They weren’t even busy, only 20 cars in the parking lot, but both the desk attendant and supervisor wouldn’t budge. If you don’t allow children, PUT IT IN BOLD ON THE FRONT PAGE OF YOUR WEBSITE so dads who want to spend time with their kids and grow the game of golf don’t waste their time trying to give you their business.

King's Deer is my favorite golf course in the greater Colorado Springs area. The staff is always friendly and it only took us a few trips for them to remember us. Bob in the pro shop is by far the most friendly guy I've encountered at a golf course and he absolutely deserves a raise. I also heard they have bingo every second and fourth Saturday of the month and I'm excited to check that out. Their beer selection is limited but they make up for it with quality conversation and fabulous attitudes.
