Tee to Green is challenging from the tips, but trust yourself. Highest elevation is 8,550 on a par 3. Elevated tee boxes, blind green shoots, decent driving range and putting green, very narrow, breakfast and cart girls only on the weekends. Make sure you know when they are cutting grass on the range because they closed the range the day we went and that definitely made the day a lot tougher without a warm up. Some greens weren’t looking to best, sandy or seedy. Views were fantastic but we had to look passed all the burn, very happy this course didn’t get touched by the fires a few years back.

Absolutely love this course! Grand Lake Golf Course is a hidden gem nestled in one of the most beautiful mountain settings you’ll ever play. The views are stunning, the course is in great shape, and the vibe is relaxed yet professional. What really makes this place special is the staff. Don, Ted, Jeff, and Rocky go above and beyond to make every visit a great experience. They’re friendly, welcoming, and genuinely care about the players. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, they treat you like family. Can’t recommend this course and crew enough—five stars all the way!

Day two of a two-day golf trip and we could not have ended it on a better course in the area. Grand Lake Golf Course is a links style course with spectacular views in spite of the burned trees from previous fires. Some holes have wide fairways, others not so much. This course will make you think about your drive and your approach if you play the tees appropriate for your handicap. I liked the helpful hints for each hole on the scorecard. Staff was friendly and the pace of play was better than expected. The only area for improvement is to have a Ranger on the course ensuring pace of play; otherwise, great course.

I have been skiing here for over 40 years, and since Janice left it has gotten progressively worse every season. I have been given every excuse in the book as to why it’s been bad… wind, no trees, groomer is broken, employees are sick. I understand that since the fire there have been new challenges, but in 4 seasons I have seen no effort to mitigate the issues or upgrade the area. Wind fences could be used to help with drift and protect the groomed trails. If the groomer has been limping along for two years, as the employee told me, why is it not in the budget to fix and/or replace it? The prices have gone up the last 3 years, and as a local, who pay taxes to the rec district, I have seen zero effort in making upgrades. They have also hosted no events or races to try to bring in any new income for the Nordic season to help with budget shortfalls. It appears to me that all the money brought in from the Nordic Center goes to golf maintenance. That brings me to the grooming practices. They groom the trails between 7-10 am in the morning. This means that the trails are always soft because the grooming never gets a chance to freeze and set overnight. So the best time to ski is at 6 am before they churn up all the snow. They also do two passes on the skate tracks leaving a soft sinkhole in the middle of the track that sucks your skis in and can be dangerous. For the prices they are charging, I expect better attention to detail. I miss how well this Nordic Area used to be maintained.

Amazing sledding hill! Fun for the whole family. It’s free and they even provide tubes but also allow you to bring your own sleds. Their hot chocolate in the clubhouse is the best.
