Funky cool. Bring lots of old golf balls. We were the only ones on the golf course. I used my chipper on the greens my wife used her putter. Make sure you pick up a scorecard which they leave Ramada as you'll need it to find a couple of the holes. Fun time and cool scenery.

We are in Cortez from Denver with our kids baseball team. Have never been to the area before. Love the area and the people. None more than Nancy the owner of South 40 Golf. We brought our entire high school team to play 9 nine holes. Nancy and her husband could not have been more welcoming. They built, maintain and operate the course by themselves. They are very proud of it, and well they should be. The experience was one of the best I have had in recent memory. If you are a golf purist, this is not for you. Its for people who want a pleasant experience. And if the owners happen to be there to greet you, spend a moment and chat. Perfect spot for social distanced activity. Nancy is very mindful of this and reminded our players as well. Thank you Nancy for a perfect afternoon. I will not forget it.

Perfect course for my wife and I as we are just getting into golfing. Cheap fees, no crowds, great picnic spot halfway through. Don’t expect perfect greens and prepare to sacrifice some balls, but overall 10/10 for a casual walkable game. They also provide free “catty” service! He was very helpful.

Excellent place for a laid back game of golf, greens are a little rough, but the course is easily walkable (since there’s no golf carts), and the price is right at $15 for 9 holes/$5 for the push cart. Bring the kids and just have fun!

Beautiful views but deep rough on either side and greens were in rough shape.
