Funky cool. Bring lots of old golf balls. We were the only ones on the golf course. I used my chipper on the greens my wife used her putter. Make sure you pick up a scorecard which they leave Ramada as you'll need it to find a couple of the holes. Fun time and cool scenery.

We are in Cortez from Denver with our kids baseball team. Have never been to the area before. Love the area and the people. None more than Nancy the owner of South 40 Golf. We brought our entire high school team to play 9 nine holes. Nancy and her husband could not have been more welcoming. They built, maintain and operate the course by themselves. They are very proud of it, and well they should be. The experience was one of the best I have had in recent memory. If you are a golf purist, this is not for you. Its for people who want a pleasant experience. And if the owners happen to be there to greet you, spend a moment and chat. Perfect spot for social distanced activity. Nancy is very mindful of this and reminded our players as well. Thank you Nancy for a perfect afternoon. I will not forget it.

It has been some time since we have been there. My husband and I took a road trip to the four corners area post-COVID. We set up a tee time and the wind was wicked throughout. We were treated like family. Trusted to pay and return cart. We had to rush home to Denver due to unexpected Labor day storm. Owners topped off our vacation.

While on a road trip we unexpectedly discovered this gem. This family-owned golf course is surrounded by farms and the most beautiful view of mountains and mesas. Don't expect perfectly manicured greens like you would find at the country club, this course features the native flora and is strikingly beautiful. This course is a par 3, but it is more challenging than one would expect... Bring extra balls! Motorized golf carts as well as pull-behind carts available for rent. While the course operates on an honor system, it is a good idea to call the number on the front door and get a tour of the course if it's your first visit, as it can be a bit confusing. Wish there were a 6 stars option to give!! Our favorite course ever!

Excellent place for a laid back game of golf, greens are a little rough, but the course is easily walkable (since there’s no golf carts), and the price is right at $15 for 9 holes/$5 for the push cart. Bring the kids and just have fun!
