First visit - will not be last👍. Visiting boulder from NC and by chance noticed it was very close to our planned accommodations. Was able to schedule t-times through web/app - very easy. On arrival, was impressed with the beauty of the course/what a stunning mountain view backdrop. Upon entering the very nice (and well stocked) club house, my 26 year old son and I (60 yo) were warmly greeted. Staff super nice and helpful given our first visit. It didn’t stop there…restaurant/outside bar access staff create casual (but attentive) atmosphere….starter very kind and welcoming. And, the course was wonderful - very well maintained, well laid out, clearly marked. We played the “blue” tees which was appropriately challenging, with a good balance of both wide and a few more narrow target areas. Greens well cared for and rolled pretty consistently across course. So - with all said - this is not only a great course, but one of the best municipal courses I have played - way to go Boulder. See you again for our next round soon⛳️❤️ Would recommend for anyone looking for a great round of golf/day at the course in a beautiful setting.

This place is one of my favorite courses in the area. It’s a nice course with plenty of challenge and variety, and it’s beautiful. The staff is very friendly too! My one major complaint is that there are many leaves and pieces of cotton on the course, which often make it difficult to find your ball, even when you hit a good shot. For example, last week I hit a shot into the middle of the fairway, but because of all the leaves and cotton around, I couldn't find the ball, and had to take a drop. I wish they would do something to solve this!

Good course! Worth the less than $50 weekend walking rate. Very tight, lots of trees. Very easy to walk. 5/10 landscaping though, tee boxes and fairways were a bit rough, lots of weeds and geese damage on fairways. New superintendent would do well!

EVER since landing in Boulder with my 3-gen family for a reprieve from the Texas summertime heat & humidity, I have frequented the Flatirons GC for personal space, shortgame sharpening, and time helping my young granddaughter learn the game and work on fundamentals. My opinion is that FLATIRONS GC is a WELL-RUN, PROFESSIONAL ORGANIZATION. The staff are all welcoming and respectful, the superintendent and grounds-team keep the beautiful teeboxes, fairways, and greens in great shape. The system for making tee reservations by phone, online, or in person is reasonable and fair when it comes to accessibility and policies, probably ahead of 90% of muni systems in the US. I have found this venue, even being without any course competion in the local-to-Boulder area, to be top-notch and worth a 5-STAR assessment. HATS OFF TO DAVID, the Director of Golf, and others in leadership roles for their dedication; assuredly this level of excellence is difficult to attain in any people-pleasing business. My only suggestion for improvement would be that the adjacent restaurant step up its game to offer at least some gluten-free options for dining and snacks. The eatery is well positioned between the nines to serve golfers at the halfway point, for a beverage or fortifying takeaway snack.

I'm updating this review to five stars, despite my misgivings about the overpriced starting price of practice balls — $9 for a small bucket of 40 balls, the most expensive of all the public courses in the area. I'm giving Flatirons 5 stars because of the consistently friendly and helpful staff, the high standards of grooming and maintenance throughout, especially on the fairways and greens, and the surprisingly challenging nature of the course. It's a flat course start to finish with a minimal amount of sand traps, but the difficulty lies in the narrow fairways and the number of holes where water comes into play--6 holes on the front nine and 6 holes on the back. Flatirons should sell a warm-up bucket of 25 balls for $5 or $6, to match the other public courses in the area, but overall, it deserves five stars. Last, this is a recommendation for a future upgrade to the practice range itself. The range is unique in that it is lined on both sides with 75 to 100-foot-high netting, supported by metal poles every 40 to 50 yards, similar to Top Golf. If these poles were painted near the bottom with a 20-foot-high stripe of color that matched the distance of the flags, it would be incredibly helpful to pinpoint how far one hit the ball.
