Had a great experience at Common Grounds. Course was in great condition and loved the greens. The pace of play was very good. Love the layout. So glad we stopped on our drive from St Louis to Breckenridge to play this course again. Definitely one of our favorites

I absolutely loved this track. Best course in Denver for the money you spend. Very walkable and it was in great condition when I played it. Greens were medium in terms of speed but very smooth. Fairways were great and the rough was thick. This is my favorite flat course I have played. Tom Doak is an amazing golf course architect, and this is by far the cheapest course designed by him you'll find. Greens are wild. So many reveals when you get closer or go over a ridge. Number 3 is a great par 5 with a center line bunker that messes with your layup choices, and the punchbowl green is sweet. A couple of people I played with pulled their shots left and had some really tough chips coming in. Number 10 is a short par 4 that I would play differently next time. Very wide open on the left, more that you would think. Better angle into that green where trees guards the right side. I would not hit driver and go left, leaving a flip wedge in. Hole 11, a par 5, is my favorite. Didn't hit it well off the tee and ended up in that big cross bunker. Big mound short right of the green both kicks golf balls towards the middle of the green or propels balls over the right side of the green. Water is all up the left side is the hole. Great design. Absolute brutes from hole 14 to the finish. Fun track I'll try and play every time I'm in town. Very hard to get tee times, even during the week as a single. Driving range is huge and off grass. I think I saw three chipping greens and a big putting green. Plenty of areas to practice. Great course for a push cart.

The range needs to be shut down and completely returfed and a new groundskeeper needs to be hired. The sandy base is atrocious. Wet day or dry day there's no firmness. You are unable to have a consistent stance and it's very difficult to hit irons shots and find the bottom of the swing. Grass is often wilted and nothing really stands up unless you're on the outer ends of the range. Wait there's more. And whoever designed it put a large slope about mid way on the hitting area which seemingly was to have a somewhat elevated teeing ground. But if you're lucky, they'll have the hitting area that day directly on or next to the slope so you have to not only deal with downhill lies, but also the sand base and wilted grass. It's really a joke of a range and the price/ball ratio is one of the worst around

I've been playing at Common Ground since it opened. I love the course. However, I'd disappointed in the quality of the fairways. The grass is eaten up in many places. CG used to have the best fairways of any public courses I played. Not any more. It's disappointing.

I’ve lived in the area and played CG 5-10 times a year for the last several years. To start with the positive - great short game area, the new clubhouse is nice, and the overall atmosphere is good. That said, CG has gone downhill over the years. The driving range, one of the few in the area, is in awful shape, it’s pricey for a 90 ball bucket, and the balls have to be 4+ years old. The course has good bones, the Doak reno has a lot of great features to it. Regardless, it’s frequently in rough shape - massive dry patches in the fairways, tee boxes are uneven, and greens are super sandy + cut uneven. It’s just not well-kept. The biggest issue is the cost. $100 for green fees and $20 per rider for a cart is literally outrageous, especially when it’s not mid-summer, peak condition. Compared to other courses in the Metro area, you can get a much better value elsewhere. For being the home of the CGA, I’d hope prices are dropped and/or conditions drastically improved.
