Played 18 today on a set of great rental clubs. Contrary to recent posts, the course was in great shape. Tees greens and fairways. Played soft throughout. Couldn't have been more pleased with the course and the folks I played with. I'll be back.

Racist staff denied me and my friends our tee time. We reserved for the last tee time available and when we walked in the front desk staff asked us (we are Latino) yall here to play soccer? I found this extremely rude as we were prepared for our tee time and he continued by stating he was going to deny us service because we were going to hold everyone else up… even tho we were the last time … rude racist staff

They are always late. If you book a tee time, expect that you will start up to 15 minutes. Then once you finally start, expect it to take forever. It is a 5 hour round minimum. Not uncommon for there to be two groups on a tee box, or even 3 at times. It’s also not in good shape. Shag rug tee boxes, greens have gotten worse, and the bunkers are not only horrible but inconsistent. But it’s cheap. That’s literally the only good thing about this course.

I picked up golf during the pandemic like so many other golfers. This golf course is perfectly suited for my current skill level, which I would say is anywhere between beginner-intermediate (average score of high 80s from the tips). Frustratingly, I have struggled to match those scores on other golf courses. It’s flat, so you can walk easily. Greens are in good shape most of the time. Fairways can be better but the staff are doing their best, I think. I have played the course right after heavy storms, and it is still playable. Unfortunately, the course lost a lot of trees during last winter’s storms, so the course has gotten even easier. If you are looking for a golf course to have some fun while testing your skills, Poplar Creek Golf Course is a great option. It is definitely one of the cheaper courses in the Bay Area with a decent short game practice area, putting greens, and driving range. It has a nice restaurant as well. Pro shop has a great selection and folks there are nice. The only downside is that it can be pretty slow during the weekends at times but only understandable.

How come I didn't find Poplar creek earlier 😕!!!! Except the fact that the course design is not that challenging, Poplar creek has it all !!! Good condition, both fairways and greens; like Hole 3 and Hole 18 the most. There's a pond by the green of Hole 3, very elegant design, makes you wanna spend more time on the green; Hole 18 is surely another beauty, the astonishing green by the clubhouse is a keeper for you to keep coming back for this perfect ending.
