Description

Founded in 1899, San Jose CC is one of California's oldest clubs, located in the Alum Rock foothills. The par 70 course was shaped by Tom Nicoll, Sam Whiting, and William Watson over its history. It plays just over 6,200 yards but challenges with narrow fairways and sloped greens. The historic Spanish style clubhouse and hillside views add to its charm. It's a blend of history, intimacy, and strategic golf.

It went well with the reputation of being the oldest golf club in Bay area which is over 100 years old. The scenery was really beautiful and wonderful. I visited at the invitation of a friend today, and the desire to challenge Hinburn more springs up. You have to be careful because the gap between the halls is a little close, but the game in nature, which is very quiet, was very in-situ. If you get a chance someday, I strongly recommend you to visit.

This is probably the best golf course you will ever play. This greens are very true and difficult. The grass is immaculate and so many different amenities. The cart service is what really got me here. Frankly I have a tough time not having a great time here.

Great greens, course plays longer than the scorecard, and has a great view of the city.

I just joined the club 2 months ago (no wait list at the moment) and absolutely love it so far. It’s a classic layout with a great mix of short and long par-4s. Has some elevation changes but very walkable - especially the last 14 holes. Greens are in great shape and fast! Staff has been nothing but friendly and accessible. The members I’ve played with so far are down to earth, welcoming and fun. I looked for a while around the area for a club to join and feel the membership cost-to-value is better here than any club in the south Bay Area if you like golf and a relaxed atmosphere. A reverse-commute, usually traffic-free 30 minute drive from west Mountain View.
