This is a *great* place to have a private event, or a wedding! I got married there, with a dinner reception afterwards. Most importantly, the folks there make it easy to plan. Erin took care of us, and didn't forget anything. She had a friendly way of explaining the features of the venue, and was concise about offering options like extra microphones, lighting or DJs. In my case, we had our ceremony outside on the Veranda, and reception in the Presidio Room. They’re separated by glass doors: they literally couldn't be closer, for a seamless transition into dinner. The food was wonderful: I had the Herb Panko Crusted Salmon, and awesome NY Cheesecake for dessert. There are strings of market lights on the Veranda for a really relaxing atmosphere. Parking is close to the building and plentiful. Load in and out is super easy for any vendors, as well as yourself. Often, things are harried when you’re planning an event — no matter what the event is. It’s sure easier when you have people at the venue who 1) know what they’re doing, and 2) take care of things efficiently in a calm manner. Wouldn’t *you* like to have a great time, as well as your guests? That’s the way it is here. I’m not a golfer, but obviously this is a no-brainer as a tournament venue, especially if you want an event afterwards. It’s a great place, run by great people.

Definitely NOT worth the absurd price. Riverwalk thinks they're a premier course, and yet they have No Marshall to police an eightsome, yes, an EIGHTsome playing in the afternoon on a Sunday after Christmas! Only being able to finish 15 holes before darkness with a 1pm tee time is disgusting! Additionally, the tee boxes looked like a child's sandbox with some grass growing in random spots. This was the first time back in almost year and I doubt I'll be returning. Complete and total rip off.

Riverwalk hosted our men's club this week and it was a very easy and seamless process from beginning to end. Carts were staged and prepped very well, course markers were provided as requested, rates was great for our guys, and the course was in better condition than expected given the recent flooding and rain. We have been coming here once a year for a few years in a row now and 2026 was the best yet. Very nice to see them headed in the right direction with all the uphill battles. Thanks Riverwalk team!

From out of town and had a little time for 18. Staff was super friendly, set me up with rental clubs, and got me right off the first tee for a complete round in just over 3 hours. Greens were in good shape, even with a lot of recent rain.

I can’t actually formulate the words to describe how horrible I was treated at the front desk. Keep in mind I had played here a week before and was playing with a group of friends for the first time and was actually embarrassed by how I was forced to react. First things first I wasn’t late for my tee and showed the guy at the desk my receipt. He delayed my tee by 40 minutes. From the very beginning he was condescending and his reaction was “Well you can leave if you don’t like it” A few minutes later I went back in because I remember I had left my range finder and they had saved it for me with my name. The guy passively looked and told me that he couldn’t find it. As I watched him I could tell he was just upset from the initial interaction when I confronted him that we weren’t late. Asked him for a manager or a card so I could address this situation in a professional matter. Once again I asked him where I could leave a review and his words were “wherever” After that I told him I was going to leave a review about him for being condescending and his response immediately was “I don’t care!” and legit was screaming at me with a line of people behind us asking us to stop. I told him that he should treat customers with more respect and people in general and he said “ I don’t need to do nothing” as he raised his voice louder and louder. Long story short the manager dropped my range finder off at the turn, apologized which I appreciate but justified his actions claiming the guy was overwhelmed because of the rush. Now realistically I’m human and know what pressure can do. But bottom line I’m a SD native and made a promise to myself I would never go back to this course in my life. If you’re visiting or considering this course think twice because although the course is beautiful, the price and hospitality will determine your experience. Plenty of cheaper courses with better and more welcoming workers. Trust me I’ve played almost every course in SD and would recommend North County or any other local spots.
