The Whittier Narrows course improved a lot after the Covid pandemic, but its condition has been getting worse throughout 2025. I truly love this place and have been coming here for over 20 years, but I don’t think I’ll be returning for a while. Many areas of the fairway are now just bare dirt, making it almost impossible to play golf, and the greens are no longer maintained as well as they used to be—they’ve become quite slow.

$23 for 9 holes walking...best price in the area. Greens are true. Fairways not so much but its a fun course.

I played this course in July, 2025, and I genuinely think it sucked all my golf powers and ability away from me. I haven’t been the same since. Echoing all the other ‘1’ star reviews, the course conditions are as atrocious as advertised. The real kicker was that as we were about to tee off, one of my buddy’s asked if there is a restroom on the course, to which the starter responded something to the effect of “pee wherever you want, it’s pretty dry everywhere out here” lol 😂. Tells you all you need to know. LA has a massive shortage of playable, public courses, so I hope WNGC can turn it around. The name exudes a luxurious golfing experience, but that’s as far as positive experience goes :’).

I’ve been coming to this course for over 20 years, and it’s always been in great condition. Unfortunately, the experience today was disappointing. The pro shop starter, “Brain,” was extremely rude and lacked basic courtesy. My cousin and I have enjoyed playing the Back 9 of the Pine course every other Sunday at 6 a.m. for years without any issue—until today, when “Brain” refused us for no clear reason. Sadly, this has left a bad taste, and we won’t be returning for a while.

I consider Whittier Narrows my home course. I love coming here on the weekends (usually 5:30am) and walk on for the back nine (pine) been playing the back 9 for about 5 years without a t time. It’s never been a problem but lately this the starter Brian has been making it difficult for us locals. This dude is extremely rude how he goes about his business and has terrible PR skills. Unfortunately as long he’s there I probably won’t be going back. Sad coming from a loyal customer.
