I mean, what do you expect? The only people not rating this course a 5 is because they probably are frustrated or don't belong there. Views are exceptional, course is well designed, the Reuben sandwich at The Lodge is great. Getting a tee time is hard, but most good courses in SD have that problem. The best part? If you are a San Diego county resident and get the card (but make sure you bring it), it is actually cheap. For tourists it can be a bit much but if you consider what you are getting, still worth it. North is hillier but easier/shorter, South is more flat and easier to walk but not easier by any means. Bunkers are just where you dont want them which means you'll land right inside just when you thought you'd hit a perfect shot. Go, use it to get better and enjoy the experience. You'll probably lose a few balls, especially around The Farmers Open season.

This golf course is right by the ocean, and the scenery is absolutely breathtaking. The facilities are super convenient, and the practice range is great too. I really love this course. The prices are pleasantly surprising — especially for the practice range. I’m not ready to play on the green yet, but I hope that by coming here often and improving my skills, I’ll soon be able to play on the course.

Had a great experience at our golf outing. Staff was fully prepared to handle our large group. Course was in excellent condition and challenging. Carts include GPS and the view of the ocean is prevalent throughout entire course. A definite must play and I look forward to returning in the future.

Played both courses at Torrey Pines Golf Course last Friday and Saturday with three close friends — a true bucket-list experience for me. North Course: The course was in immaculate condition and the ocean views were absolutely incredible. However, our round took 5 hours and 45 minutes, the longest round I’ve ever played. The driving range before the round had a 20–30 minute wait because it was so packed. The on-course staff — cart service, halfway houses, and pro shop — were all friendly and outstanding, but the marshals were ineffective. They drove around but did nothing to help pace of play, which really detracted from the experience. South Course: Another beautiful layout with world-class scenery, but once again the pace of play was extremely slow — 5 hours and 34 minutes, the second-longest round I’ve ever played. And again, the marshals offered no help in keeping groups moving. To top it off, the pro shop closed at 5:45 PM, and I literally watched them lock the doors while players were still on the course. For a facility of this stature, that felt like very poor planning and service. Overall: I’m truly glad I had the chance to play Torrey — the setting is spectacular and the courses are pristine. But between the unacceptable pace of play and lack of meaningful marshal engagement, I wouldn’t return. Bucket list checked… but once is enough.
