We stayed one night at Indian Palms Country Club and overall had a neutral-to-positive experience. It provided exactly what I needed for a quick overnight stay.
The room itself was a bit outdated, but you can tell it was once very nice. It had all the basics: a comfortable enough bed, microwave, mini fridge, TV, iron and ironing board, a small counter with two chairs, a ceiling fan, and an A/C unit. The room wasn’t perfectly clean (it probably could have used a quick sweep), but it also wasn’t gross or concerning. One small issue we noticed was that the bathroom fan, when turned on, intermittently made a loud noise while running.
The staff were especially friendly and helpful. The security staff at the front gate was the first person we interacted with, and he was very nice and patient as we were initially confused about where to go on the property. When we got to our room, the door to the first room we were assigned wouldn’t work and the lights didn’t come on when inserting the keycard. We called the front desk and the staff member came out right away, helped troubleshoot, and then moved us into another room without any hassle. He was friendly and patient the whole time.
We did try the hot tub, although if it hadn’t been dark we probably would have skipped it. The water was only warm and the jets weren’t working, and the pool area looked like it may not get used very often. There is also a restaurant/bar in the same building as the front desk, but we arrived around 6:30 PM and it closes early so we didn’t get a chance to try it.
The property itself is very large and gated, which makes it feel safe but also a little tricky to navigate. I would recommend arriving during daylight if possible. The location is great if you need to be near Indio, the courthouse, or Coachella, and it was very quiet during our stay.
For the price, it felt worth it. We just needed a safe, decent place to stay for the night and that’s exactly what it provided. I read reviews ahead of time which helped set realistic expectations.
A couple improvements that would make the stay even better: the hot tub working properly, pool towels available near the pool area, and maybe a simple guide or map in the room showing where amenities are located. It would also be helpful if that guide included instructions or tips for ordering food to the property, since the grounds are large and somewhat confusing to navigate—we felt unsure about trying to have food delivered because we weren’t confident a driver would easily find the room. I also wasn’t sure if there was a fitness center and didn’t have time to ask. It would also have been nice if there had been a simple broom available in the room or nearby, since the floor just needed a quick sweep, but it wasn’t a big enough issue for me to call staff back over.
Overall I would still give it 5 stars because it delivered what we needed for a simple overnight stay.
