Despite the mud from the rain and being cold. My son and grandson and myself had a good time. This is a good place to practice your short or bring beginners or both as I did today with my grandson. The golf pro was very nice as well.

I really like this course. It is perfect for what it’s meant for: A short iron, wedge and putter course to learn the game or practice your short game. Or a way to get 9 holes done in less than an hour. Friendly, well kept and a good time

So I have some credibility, in addition to having been tournament chair of a men's club. If you're just out for cheap golf and a nice walk in a pretty course, have at it, but anyone who's halfway serious about their game should stay away. Got to wonder where the 4^ reviews came from.

If you could give half points, I'd give it 2 1/2 for having someone in the pro shop who knows what he's doing and no worse than ok upkeep of the course. The layout is strange to say the least. Difficult to figure out where the next tee is after you get off a given green. Tee boxes are ok, as are the greens. My gripe is pretty simply stated. The greens have the standard closely mowed fringes, about six feet from the green itself. So far, so good, although that's shorter by a few feet from what is typical. Here's where it gets totally screwy. Beyond the six feet is a short area of really thick rough, the width of which varies from one green to the next, roughly four to six feet. Further on the outside is more conventional rough. So basically, they're making it impossible to putt from off the green (unless you're in front of it, to which the forgoing does not apply) unless you're within six feet of the green's edge. Good look trying to putt through the huge clumps in between. So you're left with a shot that few amaterus have in their bag of trying to hit a short lofted shot over the junk. From what I saw of the people playing out there today, many of the patrons don't care one way or the other about what I wrote here, but for anyone who's halfway trying to improve their game, register a respectible score, etc. forget about it. I'm in my mid 70s now, played 15 holes today, and made the same number of pars and triples, one each, with mostly bogies otherwise and a handful of doubles. In my late 50s I shot even on a side of a regulation course, granted only a 111 slope and with 12 puts, but those are numbers many golfers strive to attain and never do. So I have some credibility, in addition to having been tournament chair of a men's club. If you're just out for cheap golf and a nice walk in a pretty course, have at it, but anyone who's halfway serious about their game should stay away. Got to wonder where the 4^ reviews came from.

Find a cow pastures, you'll have a better experience. Would have rated ONE star, except there is a decent warmup, practice area friendly staff.
