This review is dated for 11-21-2020. This golf course is extremely fun to play. Every hole is dramatically different from the next. Many elevation changes. Plenty of room for error off the tee box, however good scoring will be dependent of your short game on this course because the greens are firm and fast. Some of my favorite greens I've played. Course was in amazing condition.

I held my engagement party at Calabasas Country Club, and while the venue itself is beautiful, the behavior of the event coordinator, Cheryl Williams and her supervisor, Angie Grove, was shockingly unprofessional and, quite honestly, disgusting. As the evening wrapped up, the music ended just a few minutes after 11, and guests were gathering their belongings and making their way out, completely normal for an event of this size (160 guest). Out of nowhere, Cheryl shut off all the lights of the venue and with an aggressive tone, demanded that everyone “leave immediately,” and threatening to call the cops as if people could magically vanish along with the decor. Her approach was rude, unnecessarily confrontational, and embarrassing to witness. She also created a potential safety hazard as the event was outdoors and, with the lights shut off, there was no way for guest, especially elderly guest, to see as they were trying to leave the venue. Within minutes, she came back again, raising her voice and insisting that we were somehow taking up her time because she had another event early the next morning and was currently “understaffed.” Instead of managing the situation professionally, she repeatedly made everyone feel like a burden. She even pulled out her phone and began recording guests and family members, which felt invasive, disrespectful, and completely uncalled for. What made the situation even worse was her loud comment that she would “never host a party like this again.” The tone and phrasing of that statement were extremely uncomfortable, and several of us felt there might have been something more behind it than simple frustration. Regardless of her intentions, it was inappropriate and unprofessional. Equally disappointing was the fact that Angie Grove, her supervisor, seemed to defend or justify Cheryl’s behavior rather than acknowledge how inappropriate it was. Instead of diffusing the situation or showing even a bit of understanding toward the guests, she appeared to back up Cheryl’s approach entirely, which only made the whole interaction feel even more dismissive and unprofessional. Expecting 160 guests to disappear instantly is unrealistic at best, and the harsh attitude shown by Cheryl, combined with Angie’s full support of it, left a terrible final impression. If these are the people representing the venue, I would strongly advise future clients to think twice. If you’re considering hosting an event at this country club, I honestly wouldn’t recommend it unless new staff are brought in to replace the current event coordinator and her supervisor. A coordinator’s job is to support, manage, and communicate, not berate guests, record them without explanation, or lash out with hostility at the end of an important celebration. The venue might be beautiful, but the conduct of Cheryl and Angie was absolutely unacceptable. Never received an apology either.

I recently toured Calabasas Country Club for a potential event, and unfortunately my experience with their event coordinator, Cheryl, was extremely disappointing. She came across as noticeably agitated and unprofessional throughout the entire interaction. Her tone was condescending, and she seemed overwhelmed by even simple questions. At one point she was physically shaking while talking to us, which made the whole situation feel very uncomfortable and unstable. Professionalism and clear communication are the bare minimum when you’re planning a major event, and I didn’t feel either was present here. Because of how poorly the interaction was handled, I chose not to move forward with this venue and booked with Cielo Farms Malibu instead, where the staff was calm, welcoming, and much more capable. I would strongly recommend meeting with the team yourself before committing to anything here.
