I love Bartley, it’s my favorite of the City courses. It isn’t a hard track, pretty short compared to most. You can definitely put up a nice score out there but it has enough variety to keep it interesting. Conditions are usually pretty good- I have never played it and felt like it was in bad shape with the weather considered. Staff is always really nice, they probably have the most consistent beverage cart program in Sac, and the food is good in the clubhouse. Pace of play is pretty much the same as any other muni around here so I don’t see it as anything worth complaining about. Overall just a good, solid local course that my friends and I always have a fun round at ✅

I’ve played Bartley for years and this past Saturday I was charged $25 for my wife to ride along with me. In all the years I’ve played here I’ve never once been charged for her to ride with me. The tee boxes are a disaster and are rarely level. Is there any thought that goes into where the boxes are placed? Also what’s the point of Marshall’s if they don’t do anything?! We got stuck behind a group of 4 and in hole #8 we watched a woman tee off and hit 5 balls and then continue to wait while her boyfriend or husband gave her a 5 to 6 minute lesson all this happening while the Marshall sat and watched! Unacceptable! Time to play a new course.

I play this course a few times a year and played twilight yesterday for $28, which is not bad. 4.5 hour round, so pace of play was decent for twilight. Course is tight and in decent shape, however, the slow greens make me not want to come back. Hope it is due to the green punching that took place a few weeks ago.

Downhill on the PCT
Golf was good. 20$ club sandwich in restaurant was 1 star. Basically a bread sandwich. Just a thin layer of meat. About a millimeter thick. Do not recommend. Unless you like bread.
