I imagined the wind would be my nemesis. The greens, however, were complex and nuanced. Fairways were generous and stayed true to their namesake. I enjoyed my round despite not scoring well. I'm excited to play Baylands again.

Honestly there are much better courses for $90 (Bay Area resident rate) in the Bay Area. The fairways had a ton of dead spots. Greens and bunkers for good. The course is challenging, especially in very windy days. 6100 yards from the blue tees plays more like 6500+ because of the wind. Practice areas were nice, but again, for $90 I expected more out of the actual course. The starter was also unfriendly. When asked if I had played there before, I said "first time" and he let out a deep sigh like he was annoyed he had to explain the course and the meaning of the different OB stakes.

It's definitely a nice course, plain and simple design, not much up and down hill, no water, while a lot bushes, you need to prepare a lot of balls just in case. What's interesting is that Baylands is located right by the Palo Alto Airport, you will see small planes taking off when putting in Hole 2. If you ask if I would come back and play here again, answer is no

So disapointed. First off Marshall gives you a 5 minute lecture and asked if we were woke. What the heck does that mean. The fairways were in poor condition. The Marshall said the greens were fast. They were so slow and bumpy. We played the front 9 pull up and Marshall cames over and say we were behind and needed to pick up the pace. Looked at my watch. We were 5 minutes past the 2 hr dead line. We had no one behind us. So what's the deal. For 109 bucks it was not worth it at all. Lunch was even mediocre. Won t be Goin back here. UPDATE ON THIS REVIEW. Kevin the GM got hold of me and asked what happened. I explained what happen and he actually listened to what I had to say and wanted correct the issues I had. For the GM to reach out to me and actually gave a crap bout my issues is a winner with me. Thank you Kevin for hearing me out. So for that I give 4 🌟.
