Just an absolutely beautiful and wonderful course. It's only 9 holes, but you can't beat the view. This course is tucked away in the middle of NOWHERE, and is just amazing.

There is a place at the edge of the wilderness, where the last traces of man's ambition dissolve into the patient silence of the trees. It is called The McCloud Golf Club, and though it is humble, nine holes carved gently into the forest, it holds, in its simplicity, the profound weight of introspection. The air, thin and fragrant with pine, seems to cleanse the soul as one exhales before the first swing. Here, you do not play against the course. You walk it, as one walks through a dream or a memory. The fairways, shrouded in fir and cedar, do not demand precision. They invite surrender. Surrender to the land, to the wind, to your own limitations. A slice into the woods is not failure. It is a reminder that control is illusion, and that even the most deliberate swing may be undone by an unseen gust or a rock beneath the grass. And yet, there is joy. Not the garish joy of victory, but something quieter. Deeper. The joy of solitude, of hearing only your footsteps and the distant rustle of branches. The joy of a good shot struck not for glory, but for the sheer pleasure of motion. The joy of standing on a small green and realizing, suddenly, that you have not thought of your phone, your obligations, or the weight of time for over an hour. Mount Shasta rises in the distance, not a backdrop, but a presence. It does not judge you. It has seen everything. Your missed putts and triple bogies, mere whispers in her ancient ear. McCloud is not a destination. It is a pause. A place where you might remember something you did not know you had forgotten: that existence, when stripped of noise and urgency, can be enough. Five stars. Not because it is flawless. But because, for a brief moment, this golf course allows you to be.

I really enjoyed playing here. It's a pretty course in a great location. It has some interesting features and seems like a nice place to enjoy some low-key golf. Friendly, helpful staff. Can't beat it for the price.
