Description

This exclusive club is perched along the Pacific Ocean, offering one of the most scenic private golf experiences in San Diego. The nine-hole course may be short in length, but it makes up for it with tight fairways and ocean breezes that demand thoughtful club selection. Palm trees, coastal views, and pristine conditions create a serene, relaxed environment. Access is limited to members and hotel guests, adding to its allure as a hidden gem. The course is a true seaside escape, ideal for a quick round before enjoying the resort's beachside amenities.

Had a great family reunion the past week. Enjoyed our stay here. The college kids working here are absolutely fabulous and the stars of the show! They are so happy to be working there, helpful, and will do anything that you need to have a great experience! Breakfast and coffee in the Walnut room were a great way to start the day! The gym is small, but great equipment and a good place to work out! The beach is nice and the water is not too cold. We did fire pit a couple nights and that was fun. Overall, a great experience and would do it again!

The rooms are in serious need of updating…. All of the beachfront rooms feel cheap, used up, and unintentionally vintage. Stained fabrics and musty smells everywhere. For the price, this place needs a significant overhaul. Take a look at La Valencia or Coronado for what an expensive hotel should be like in the San Diego area. The staff is top notch and the beach view is, of course, amazing! Five stars for service and location, one for rooms.

Your employee, Daniel Fink, needs to be re-trained, the beach was stated as a public beach. The hotel has individuals policing the beach and requesting them to move their towels and equipment further into high tide. The first time we were cordial and agreed to do so from the first employee as we weren't staying at the hotel. From which point, Daniel, the second employee approaches my wife and mother and proceeds to tell us we need to move our towels and personal items further into the water. I let him know that we were informed the first time and don't understand why we have to move further into the water. He states that it's the hotel policy, and I mention that there must be some sort of miscommunication considering that we were already told once. Confused, Daniel Fink goes to ask his colleague what happened. The colleague and him meet up with us and Daniel tells us we can either move further down away from the hotel or more forward into the water. I let him know that clearly there's miscommunication on their part as we were told this before. The first employee remained quiet, and Daniel says, "Oh there's no miscommunication on my part". From which point I mention that this was stated as a public beach, and he mentions that the line from high tide is private property (keep in mind we had already moved out personal items and towel the first time). I mention to him that the beach is public and not private property, it's a creation of nature. Daniel Finch proceeds to tell me, "This is private property, do YOU OWN PRIVATE PROPERTY?" I mentioned to him I own several. Retrain your employees and do better La Jolla Beach & Tennis Club.

The La Jolla Beach and Tennis Club is a timeless gem. The private beach is beautiful, calm, and perfect for families, and the service is always top-notch. The staff go out of their way to make every visit feel special, whether you’re staying overnight or just enjoying the day. The grounds are immaculate, the restaurant is fantastic, and the views of the ocean are unbeatable. It’s classic La Jolla luxury with a relaxed, welcoming vibe.

The experience at this club was disappointing. I interacted with a staff member and security, who both said I didnt need ther names, and I dont. The management needs to remember they don't own the beach. Harassing locals and threatening removal for "private property" while beachogoers literally have their feet in the water is ilegal. As the tides change, you dont get to move tables and decide its your shore now and claim more beach space it is inappropriate and disrespectful to the community. This overreach likely violates local codes. I will be contacting city authorities for guidance. Seeing a family with children asked to leave is unpleasant for others, and not what a reputable establishment should aim for. You do not own the shore. Please educate your staff on proper protocol. I waited for law enforcement as instructed by security, but despite being told they were on their way, they have yet to arrive. Meanwhile, non-hotel guests on the shore parallel to me are not being bothered. I can't help but notice the discrimination in this situation while I continue to wait. Please note I am not in proximity of your umbrellas and they are much further back. Stop harassing locals and follow the rules we all follow.
