One of the best courses in the Bay Area. The old course (Arnold Palmer course) is a beautiful parkland style course and my favorite! It’s a very well kept course with great challenges through out. Greens are fast and well kept, it’s a great course to test your repertoire. The ocean course is a classic links style course with gorgeous views on almost every hole. The staff is very welcoming and it never disappoints. Take your out of town friends and business colleagues to the ocean course….but the old course is the real course for golf. 😬

Half Moon Bay is my favorite golf course. It has 36 holes—an Old Course and an Ocean Course. Their hot dogs are the best. I love everything about it, except for one thing: on both 18th holes, tourists often walk onto the fairway. I've had several close calls where I almost hit someone. If someone gets hit there, who is responsible? The golfer? The golf course for not keeping people off the fairway? Or the tourist who got hit while taking photos?

I played the Ocean Course, and it’s one of the most beautiful links courses ever! The fairways and greens are pretty wide, and the course is nicely designed. It looks like the greens were punched a few days ago, and some bunkers hadn’t fully drained after the storm, so I couldn’t fully enjoy the round. Still, this is a must-play course—it really gave me the feeling of being in Scotland. Since the course was undergoing aerification, there was a discounted green fee. I only paid $120 for a Saturday 12 PM tee time.

I recently got a chance to play a round on the ocean course here and I really enjoyed the course. In terms of warmup, there is no driving range, so I spent about 30 minutes just chipping around their practice area that offers chipping and pitch shots. Then putting you can practice near the clubhouse. The views on the first and last holes were spectacular because they are near the water and they h ave a stunning view. Once you're inland a bit, it feels a bit more like a countryside course. However, once you pull up to the last 4 holes on the back nine, it is just gorgeous. The one nit-pick I had about this place was that there was young guy working in the pro shop was acting rude and it really contrasted with the lovely environment we were in. Overall, I would say playing this course was worth the trip out to the coast, especially if you can hang out by the Ritz at sunset if you can.

My recent round at the Half Moon Bay Golf Links Ocean Course was nothing short of spectacular. From the moment we arrived, the staff was welcoming and professional. The course itself is a masterpiece. Playing alongside the Pacific Ocean, with the sound of the waves crashing in the background, is an experience unlike any other. The fairways were lush and the greens rolled true. While the wind can be a factor, it just adds to the challenge and the fun. Every hole offers a new, stunning view, culminating in a truly memorable round. If you're looking for an unforgettable golf experience in Northern California, put the Ocean Course on your list. It was an amazing day!
