Pro shop staff ( the window area where we check-in) is extremely rude. Not happy then get a different job. Extremely slow pace

Played Los Lagos today. It took 4 1/2 hours. Pretty good for Los Lagos. Course is in great shape. Wish I could say the same for the people working there specifically, the Marshall, who was very ignorant and rude and for the starter who was rude and demeaning to my friend. Just keep this in mind if you want to play there. It’s a shame. I’m 70 years old and I’ve played there since I was a teenager. Management needs to know!

04/16/2025 3pm: Borderline harassment- I joined a friend at the range mid afternoon. She wanted help with her golf swing, knowing I am an experienced golfer, she asked me for some advice and to share my knowledge. As a junior/ high-school & collegiate golfer, as well as studying multiple golf tactics, research & swings, I can say I have a good idea on the basic golf swing. Nearly an hour later and literally having one ball left to hit, a supposed employee of the course (couldn’t tell as he looked like a random person the way he was dressed- button down shirt/ cargo shorts versus athletic or golf attire or any type of uniform of Costa Mesa golf club) came up to us with the assumption of myself providing a lesson to my friend. As I made it clear that I am an experienced golfer HELPING an amateur golfer with no intentions of giving said lesson or receiving payment for it, he insisted that his assumption was correct and kept pestering a common customer of the range. I continued to clarify that, even though I am a well rounded golfer, I in fact was not giving a lesson and that it was truly inappropriate and demeaning that a young woman like myself couldn’t help a friend (also female) get her golf journey started. I would never take away business from teaching professionals as I previously have worked in the industry for a long time and understand it well enough. But I can definitely say that I will NOT be recommending to take lessons at a course that allows their employees to make false accusations and ruining first time experiences for others. I not only felt embarrassed (as there were numerous of other guests surrounding us also watching the interaction) but extremely upset because of the discrimination- this would not have happened if a father- daughter duo came to the range and he was helping her with her swing or if someone with Track-man came and assisted someone with their swing numbers. Employees like this one are costing the course potential money- as I would’ve recommended my friend taking a lesson at the club. It’s a shame he didn’t state his name otherwise it would be incorporated in the review. I would like to note that after I left the course I called the shop & asked to speak with a manager/ head pro & was met with an abrupt response with that corresponding employee. me: can I speak to a manager them: (very rudely) “NO.. there’s only 2 people here” - I didn’t ask how many people were there- then was sent over the leave a voicemail. I do hope to at least hear back from someone in upper management to maybe suggest better ways to approach future situations so it still ensure decency and integrity for both course and customer.

Visting Costa Mesa we reserved online for Linda at 424 pm on wednesday. The course was in good condition. We walked and rented pull carts. Pull carts were in great condition. Tee time was 430 on linda, we played 16 holes and walked off at 8 pm. So 4 hour pace of play. The driving range is OK, with limited mats if busy. No drink/snack cart was out. Really enjoyed the course layout. For the price, it's tough to beat. No big brush or dense trees, so not many lost balls if a beginner. We had a great time and would return when visiting Costa mesa

This is my home course. I’ve played here 40+ times. I’m no longer going. The front desk is always the rudest people I’ve ever dealt with. Always seem like it’s so tough to help. All of them. Every single person that works in the pro shop that I’ve encountered. They either hate their job or hate their lives. Sucks cause it’s so close. Meadowlark it is.
