Played here yesterday. Camarillo Springs is a nice course. Yes, it's like a muni course with a few rough edges, but no more than I've seen at Los Robles, Marshall Canyon, De Bell, or any of the LA City Courses. I've played here many times. Greens were in great condition. Fast and smooth. Beautiful views of the mountains, very friendly / professional staff & marshalls, and pace of play was under 4.5 hours for the entire round.

I had high hopes for this as a special Mother’s Day outing, but unfortunately, the experience fell well short of expectations. Throughout the round, we dealt with a group of kids behind us who were being loud, disrespectful, and even reckless—crashing into our cart and hitting a tree. Despite calling the marshal three separate times, no action was taken until the 18th hole—the very last one. Even then, the marshal witnessed them hit a tree and still chose not to intervene. Instead, we were told to speed up, despite there being three groups ahead of us who hadn’t even teed off yet. I was told the manager, Beth, would follow up with a call, but I still don’t understand why it took so long for anyone to step in. Overall, the experience wasn’t worth the time, money, or drive.

Updated 2024: Tee boxes are uneven but grassy, fairways are decent, greens are good not great, and bunkers are good. "Grass on the tee boxes" should not ever be a selling point for a golf course but a win is a win. 2021-2022 the tee boxes were dirt. If you compare to a course like Los Robles (at 2x the price) the fairways are worse but ok if you ignore the relatively few dead spots, the greens are slow but comparable in maintenance, and the tees are bad but acceptable. If you compare to Riverridge, which as of Sept 2024 is about 12$ more expensive, the tees, fairways, greens, are comparable, which makes cam springs good. Tee times are now 8 minutes apart (in 2024) instead of 7 (in 2021). I haven't played a prime time in 2024 to check pace of play, but you can guess how it will go with 8 minute tee times. As of 2022, which I think still had 7 minute tee times, weekend pace of play was 5:45 Basically the course is decent, and when you factor in the price then "decent" actually means "pretty great" Hole 12 is right next to the driving range, and the net is missing in the area. Its absurd. There are range balls littered around the green, so when you play hole 12 you are worried another one will come and concuss you. 2021 Review: Horrible tee boxes and fairways, good greens and bunkers. They schedule tee times 7 minutes apart (in 2021, as of 2024 it is 8 minutes apart...lol). I stopped playing here regularly, but a weekend round takes about 5:45 and I confirmed that again in August of 2022. The owner is trying to sell the course to home developers and it shows lol. Take a look at the photos for course conditions. The greens are most important and they do that well, but the teeboxes and fairways are quite literally unkept

Camarillo Springs is a fun track but its fairways are annoyingly bad. I've played here several times over the years and the story is the same: fun design to the holes but almost every fairway is chock full of what I think are gopher holes, severe mud, uneven grounds, lush grass mixed with diseased grass and dirt patches. In contrast, the greens are in very good shape and the water hazards make for a beautiful and sometimes challenging course. Someone did a good job manicuring and maintaining them. I wish they'd spend some down getting the fairways together though. The cart server only came around once, which was very odd, but the staff we met before we tee'd off was super nice. It's a mixed bag at Camarillo Springs, so pick your poison. I'll definitely be back but if you're a golf snob, you won't like it.

It's a nice local golf course that can be challenging from the tips. The course has made a decent come back since the rains. The owner was not watering the grass so it was hard pan and bare in numerous areas. The staff at the course are always helpful and accommodating. The range is average and they have replaced the mats with used mats that is a huge upgrade from their prior ones. The range balls are still pretty bad but better than the previous ones.
