I will for sure come back. Great atmosphere. The head pro was super nice and welcoming. Course is in good shape, the course design makes it fun to play. Pretty views. We play from the whites solid distance. Loved it.

My dad was the general’s aid for General Fribourg in the mid-1970s. General Fribourg kept that Golf course in excellent condition because it is dedicated to the Marines of WWII, and President Nixon used to play there when he was staying at his West Coast White House.To see the course in its current condition is a damn disgrace to the base, its Marines and their memory. There has to be somebody at the base who can make that course great again. General Brown, please save this treasure from its current condition.

I went to this course today with high expectations because I have played it many times in the past (on vacations) and the conditions were great. However, today it was in terrible shape. There was no green grass. The fairways and tee-boxes were dead, and the greens were patchy with several different types of grass. The staff was great and the facilities besides the course were fine, especially the nice lady at the snack shack at the turn. But definitely not worth the money I paid. Rumor has it that the pump that waters the fairways broke and has been on back order. Too bad because the layout, especially the back, is great. I hope they fix the course before my next visit.

Played course 26 July 2024. I played this course over 6 years ago and it was in terrible condition, but now the course has done a complete 180. It is good to see the Marines are being taken care of. Tee boxes and fairways are in good condition with the exceptions of some tee boxes not being level. The greens are pretty good as well but there are some rough areas but if you hit it where you should there won't be a problem. As for the bunkers, they need a lot more sand in them to actually execute bunker shots. The course layout is difficult with elevation challenges. If you don't make it to the fairway from the tee box just expect to try and save bogey. Staff was helpful and the food looked great. Highly recommend this course to others and I will be back.

Post COVID now and the course is being well looked after. The resto is open and you can get a decent meal and a beer or two there. Wet this time of year everywhere but had a great round.
