I have been visiting the Rancho since I was a kid. The desert setting is incredible and the resort itself has an incredible rustic charm. While I love to just see the cacti and desert life around the resort, being able to go into the desert on horseback and see the landscape there is really special. We heard that the Rancho had a change in ownership and had made some changes to the resort, so we recently visited to see what was new. We were happy to see that many of the changes were understated and that the rustic charm of the place had been preserved. The two biggest changes were the new pool complex, which is amazing and an enormous upgrade over the previous pool situation, and the food, which seemingly had received a big upgrade as well. In particular, the pool area was great to use even in the winter as the pools were heated and the therapy pool was hot like a hot tub. We will definitely be back! I would like to encourage the Rancho to continue bringing in musicians like Dan McCorison - having musicians who can play authentic western music at cookouts or at the saloon adds so much value to the whole experience.

Very underwhelming. The restaurant staff was slow and honestly disrespectful, especially at lunch. We asked a staff member about adding an extra margarita to our check while we were looking it over, and she demanded that we “show her!” because she insisted she would have never done that. She also told us that our rooms didn’t exist. Lunch and dinner were lackluster and not what we were expecting for paying as much as we did. But the biggest issue we had was the pure amount of children at this resort—running everywhere, not being controlled by their parents. In fact, the parents were nowhere to be seen. I got run into and almost knocked off my feet multiple times. We ended up leaving a day early. Colonel and Jim were fantastic and highly recommend archery and skeet shooting with them. The only reason why this review doesn’t have less stars. I would reccomend finding a stay in cave creek for a better desert experience.

Absolutely beautiful place! The rooms are very clean and well furnished, the staff are friendly and helpful, and the food is amazing. I truly can't say enough good things about Rancho de los Caballeros! Early December was a perfect time to visit because the day and night time temperatures were both moderate and there were no scorpions or snakes to worry about and the holiday decorations added to the overall beauty of the place. Watching the horses run each morning and late afternoon from the patio in room 312 was the icing on the cake! Bring your bathing suit for the heated pool, sneakers for the hiking,golf, pickleball, and walking around and your boots for horseback riding. A small flashlight comes in handyfor a little extra light on evening walks from the saloon, ballroom, or main patio and back to your room in the evenings.

Fantastic experience. Well we're here for company christmas party and couldn't be happier. Dinner was great. Pop whip show was really cool. Staff was extremely friendly and they have an employee named Tim that was hands down one of the best employees they could have.

The pool is absolutely gorgeous as are the new casitas but the fitness center needs help. There are 4 treadmills, 4 recumbent bikes, and only one Peloton and one elliptical machine. The elliptical is so old that it still has an IPod plug in and is very difficult to get going and the seat adjustment handle on the Peloton sticks out so far it bumps your left leg when you try to pedal. Improving the fitness center would be an easy fix with new machines. It tells you a bit about the priorities of the guests.
