Hidden gem? Absolutely. Located out in the country, but really convenient to Chattanooga, Huntsville and Nashville. What an awesome place! From the minute you walk into the clubhouse, you're treated like family. That's because it's a family-run business. Our golf league just recently booked a package at Dogwood Hills for our annual fall golf trip. And not a single negative word was mentioned to me by any of our guys. Everyone is already talking about a return visit. The staff is amazing. When is the last time you stayed at a resort and the owner was helping with the breakfast service? The course was manicured - lush fairways and true-rolling greens. The cabins? Amazing. Each one different in its own way and, believe it or not, actually built by the owner. The best thing about Dogwood Hills? Cassie, the Cabin Director. This woman absolutely does it all - books the golf packages and cabins, cleans the cabins, does the laundry, cooks the breakfast - I'm shocked I didn't see her out there mowing the greens! Alabama might be best known for the RTJ Golf Trail, but for the best golf package with the best pricing and the best accommodations, there's really only one choice - Dogwood Hills in little 'ol Flat Rock, Alabama. Please consider them for your next golf trip. They are the epitome of what a golf destination should be.

What really sets it apart are the stunning natural ponds scattered throughout the course—you just don’t see that kind of scenery at many other places. The layout is thoughtful and challenging, but not intimidating, making it perfect for both casual and seasoned golfers. The staff are incredibly welcoming and you can really tell it’s a family-run operation—they care about the course and their guests. Everything is well-maintained, from the greens to the clubhouse. It’s one of those places where you instantly feel at home. You can also book one of there spacious cabins on property with breakfast provided every morning. It’s a must stay and play golf course!

Quiet Value with Southern Charm Tucked just 40 minutes from downtown Chattanooga, Dogwood Hills Golf Course offers a laid-back yet rewarding round for those who enjoy classic, no-frills golf with a touch of countryside tranquility. One quick note for travelers — the course runs on Central Time, a small but crucial detail that cost me an unintended two-hour head start. From the first tee, it’s clear Dogwood Hills is cared for by people who love the game. The greens are smooth, quick, and in excellent shape; the fairways are well groomed, offering consistent lies throughout the round. The fleet of newer carts adds to the sense of quality and comfort. The layout is straightforward and inviting, making it ideal for golfers of all levels. Only a few holes truly demand shotmaking precision — a couple of water carries and a tight dogleg or two — but overall, it rewards smart, steady play over power or creativity. Where Dogwood Hills shows room for improvement is in pace management. On my visit, the lack of a course marshal allowed groups to stack up, stretching the front twelve holes into more than three hours of play. Reluctantly, I had to leave before finishing on hole 12 — not for lack of enthusiasm, but for lack of daylight and schedule flexibility. Still, Dogwood Hills delivers tremendous value and charm. With a bit more oversight on pace of play, it could easily stand out as one of the better regional golf experiences within an hour of Chattanooga

I played here on Saturday, October 13, 2024. Great course, great weather, the people that run this place were super cool, I saw a cute little baby crawling on the floor, a sweet little dog that came up to me, and the coolest lil ole lady that was awesome. Beautiful course, only 1 hr from HSV, AL. Perfect fairways, lots of features: hills, water, sand, trees. Very well-designed course. Great ownership 😁👍 Very reasonable prices for such a great course.
