Description

Set just east of Dothan, Roundabout Plantation weaves through pines with a modern, risk reward flavor. Its par 5s tempt bold second shots over water, while strategic fairway bunkers ask you to choose sides from the tee. Greens are midsize with enough tilt to keep approach angles important. The practice range and short game spaces make it easy to prep before tackling the stout back tee yardage. It's a solid test that still plays fairly for everyday golfers from the appropriate tees.

If I could give this place a negative star I would! Went to play this course for the first time today. Tried to call first, but got no answer. Online says open until 7:00 so my son and I made the drive. When we arrived there were 11 vehicles in the parking lot and every single hole we drove by had multiple golfers on it. Went in the club house asked to play 9 holes and was told the course was closed for maintenance by a very rude young woman. Maintenance on a Friday afternoon? REALLY? Absolutely nothing posted online about it being closed. So I asked about all the other golfers playing and she just shrugged her shoulders. Thanks for wasting our time this afternoon! We definitely won’t make this mistake again. I’ve always heard bad things about this place and today all those things were confirmed. Golfers BEWARE! Avoid this place like the plague. Their 2.6 star rating is way too high!!

Showed up on a Saturday around 1 o’clock to play golf. There was six trucks in the parking lot and was told we couldn’t play due to league play. As I was leaving, I talked to a gentleman in the parking lot who is loading his clubs up to play and I asked him if he was playing in the league and he said he had no idea what I was talking about. Told him I was turned away due to league play and he said no I’m not playing in any league and they had no issues taking my money. Just another example of how terrible this golf course is ran with no ethics and lying to peoples faces for no apparent reason. Please stick to any other golf course other than this goat farm.

Well, I have never played this course. I have went 3 times and was refused to play every time. I did post a review of my first experience, which was not good. I walked in, he asked my name, and said "that's what I thought. Your not welcome here." Since I had gave them a poor review, he banned me from the course. I play golf everywhere, I'm not saying anything about the course, because I've never played it. But as far as the management, this is the most unprofessional business I have ever encountered in my life. I would understand if I had acted unruly or even used foul language. Nothing of the sort here. Just unbelievable. No complaints about the price I have never spent a dime there, and never will.

Let me start by saying this course truly is not bad for the price; the greens and fairways are a bit rough, however I am a reasonable man who sees a $38 round of golf in Cowarts, AL for what it is and can accept that and enjoy my time playing. Frankly, I find the course to be in fair condition overall and improved from what I’ve seen in years past. Truly, it pains me to even say it, but unfortunately the 2.6-star average for this course is far too high. To put it simply, the rules at this course are absolutely atrocious; frankly, they make me sick to my stomach. The main ones being no passengers to watch you play and no sharing of clubs. Mind you, I am a reasonable man, and if there were a packed parking lot with a line of golfers eagerly waiting to tee off on Hole #1, then I would understand not sharing clubs as it could slow down play. However, that was simply not the case—there were six cars in the parking lot (ours included) when we were denied play solely because my friend did not have a set of clubs, when manager was asked she simply replied “That’s golf.” Not to be cynical, but it is obvious the ownership of this course is more interested in enforcing arbitrary restrictions than actually making money. I have been fortunate enough to play golf across the country, including Pebble Beach, Spyglass Hill, Pinehurst #2, and even the more expensive local courses here in Dothan such as RTJ and Dothan National. Never in all my experiences have I seen a course deny someone simply for riding along or watching a round. The truth is, this course is attempting to operate as if it were an exclusive country club without offering any of the hospitality, amenities, or prestige that a true country club provides. In Cowarts, AL, golfers simply want a place where they feel welcomed, relaxed, and able to enjoy their time on the course—without unnecessary pretentiousness or hostility. Yes, this course and its ownership have every right to create and enforce rules, but that does not mean those rules are fair, logical, or conducive to business growth. Policies that alienate your base, turn away paying customers, and foster resentment will only accelerate the decline of this course. If management does not re-evaluate and correct these practices, they will continue to drive people away rather than build the loyal community they desperately need. Please, for the sake of the course’s reputation, reconsider your policy.

I really don’t play a lot of golf because I’m disabled. I use to love going to this course to hit range balls! May me feel alive! I went to the course this past Sunday to do just that. The range is so far from the parking area with my disability there’s no way I can carry my clubs that far. In the past (I will say 3 years ago) they was always so gracious to over a cart! Because it has been a few years I asked about using a cart and was turned down! Then I offer to rent a cart, their response was we don’t aloue our carts to be used for the range. My experience with people like this is in my opinion is they don’t need people like me business! So I can tell you! I don’t need their course!!! Please back disabled people and avoid this course at all coast
